First working on customer cars in 2006, and opening the new shop in 2011, Air Cooled Express has been helping VW owners from around the mid west by providing premiere services to their customers. Owner and Volkswagen specialist Mike Carroll, along with the experienced team, have taken decades of experience working on air cooled engines and turned it into one of the regions best recognized vintage volkswagen shops. Air Cooled Express has been heavily involved in the Volkswagen community by being a sponsors of the Omaha VW Club and I-29 Dragway, where we race our race-prepped drag beetle, ACE (Short for Air Cooled Express). Danny Kaven is specialist at Air Cooled Express. His years of hot rod experience and his attention to detail make for some seriously nice work. Danny’s son August has also recently joined the core team, bringing with him his automotive training, experience, and passion.

Our shop is located in the warehouse district of Bennington, NE. It’s a full service shop with the ability to handle any size project. We work with a network of body shops, upholstery and cabinetry shops, tire shops, and parts stores locally and nationally, so we can facilitate even the biggest and most extravagant builds. It’s not unusual to see well over a dozen cars being worked on at once. With two large bays, a fabrication room, a clean room where engines, transmission and other precision pieces are built, and a mezzanine loaded with parts, it’s fair to say we mean business.
